Christmas 2012

Okay so I am a few months behind but some of you just got your Christmas cards as well!  Christmas is my FAVORITE holiday and it is even more special with kids!  Every year my mom and dad host a Christmas eve party with friends and family so that is like the beginning of our Christmas.  We look forward to it every year.  We are always there late and this year was no different.  We left about 10:00 and the kiddo's fell asleep in the car on the way home.  We still had to put our Santa Key our because we do not have a chimney and we had to leave Milk and Cookies for Santa!  Yes we still do that:)  Here is the best picture we could get of the kids and the key.  Edith was so done and ready for bed!
We are still lucky that our kids are little and do not feel the need to get up super early!  I wish I could say the same for my hubby:)  When they finally did wake up we headed downstairs to see what Santa had left us.  They were at good ages this year!

Waiting for the okay to come down!
Seeing what Santa left for them
Edith was more excited about her new Princess book than the super cute baby that she got
Seeing what was in their stocking
Elliott got his first Pocket Knife!  Do not worry, it is plastic.  It can however cut through cardboard:)

Santa was even able to find a Storm Trooper and Darth Vader sweatshirt

Wes' parents game over for a little bit and Elliott was excited to show Grandpa his pocket knife

After we had Christmas at our house we packed up the kiddo's in new jammies and headed to Mimi & Papa's (my parents) and did Christmas with them and my brother and his family.  It is always a fun time when we get together.  There were even more presents and the ones that Elliott was really looking for!

Edith got an amazing doll house from Santa
All he wanted were Switch and Go Dino's.  Santa did not bring any to our house and you would have thought it was the end of the world.  He did however bring them to Mimi & Papa's:)
We got a Dress up box from Auntie & Kuncle and could not wait to try stuff on!
Finishing opening up presents as a princess
Daddy playing with Elliott's toys:)
Kuncle is super excited to share his Star Wars obsession with his nephew and Elliott is happy to help!

Once again it was a very quick Christmas and a very memorable one.  It always seems to take forever to get here and then is over in a flash.  We are looking forward to many more Happy Christmas's!

Elliott's First Real Plays

Elliott got to experience his first real life plays this past year.  The first one we took him to was Scrooge the Musical at Champion Center with some good friends of ours from Church.  We were warned that there were some loud noises and s couple of little scary parts.  Elliott was loving it until it got to the part of Bob Marley, Scrooge's former partner and he was a little scary, or super scary as Elliott would say.  He looked like a Zombie and that just about did Elliott in.  He made us snuggle him and close his ears and eyes and then he started crying loudly and yelling "Get Me Out of Here!"  We were able to convince him to stay but it took a lot of convincing:)  After the play was over we were heading out and they said the cast would be in the lobby greeting people, Elliott scoped out where the Zombie was and went WAY out of his way to go around him and not see him.  The next weekend we were suppose to go see Elf at the 5th Ave with all of Wes' family but they all came down with the crud so we went with my brother, sister in law and our Niece and a dear friend of mine and her 2 kiddo's.  They all loved it and had a blast.  We also ran into another set of dear friends and their daughter.  Here are a few pictures of the special day.

Zoo Lights

Every year Wes takes the week in between Christmas and New Years off from work so we can spend time together as a family and we can watch the kids play with their toys.  This year we decided to pack up and go to Zoo Lights after Christmas thinking that it would be less crowded, we were wrong.  The weather was questionable if it was going to rain but we made it through without rain and the kids had a blast.  We bought them light up wands and of course Edith picked a sparkly pink butterfly that was pretty cute and Elliott picked one that to this day has been loosing the light up things.  It was a fun family evening just the 4 of us.  Great memories!

Our visit to Santa

This has to be one of the most fun trips to see Santa that we have experienced.  On our way to see Santa we were talking with Edith about him and she said to us, "I going to stand by him!"  Well, we are here to tell you that once she has made up her mind on something she is sticking to it.  When we got there Santa tried his hardest to get her to sit on his lap but you can probably guess what happened.

Delivering the letters to Santa.
This is the closest she would get.  Told you she was STRONG WILLED!

They thought that Rudolph would help.
